Pekka Ala-Pietilä, born in 1957, is a seasoned technology executive and photographer. 

Photography has long been a meaningful hobby for him, and nine years ago his interest deepened significantly. His grandmother photographed in the 1920s and 1930s - primarily people - leaving behind a substantial collection of images for future generations to reflect on. Later in life, she turned her hand to painting, a pivot that left a lasting impression on the young boy about the importance of personal renewal.

Today, Pekka Ala-Pietilä concentrates on fine art portraiture and black and white street photography. His first solo exhibition was held in Paris at Gallery Espace Thorigny – Le Marais in the spring of 2022. Based on this exhibition, a book entitled Dr. Heisenberg, me and the meaning of life (Siltala 2023) was published.
